Hi, I am trying to send an email in my django app via mandrill but it says [Error 111] connection refused. Can we send transactional emails on pythonanywhere.com. If yes, could you please activate it? Thanks

Free accounts on PythonAnywhere can only access sites that are on our whitelist, and only over HTTP and HTTPS -- we were being used by hackers and spammers until we put that restriction in place. It looks like Mandrill has an SMTP-based API, so unfortunately we can't unblock it. You should be able to use the Gmail SMTP servers, however. Or, if you sign up for a paid account, Mandrill will work fine.
