I added copied my laptop's public key into a new file ~/.ssh/authorized_keys on my account at ssh.pythonanywhere.com but i still get prompted for password when i attempt a login. Anything i'm missing?

That should be enough. One possibility -- are you using Khodeir@ssh.pythonanywhere.com or khodeir@ssh.pythonanywhere.com when you try to ssh in? I think it may be case-sensitive.
