SMTP for paid users

[deleted]

What do you mean by "SMTP usage"? Paid accounts don't have internet restrictions, so one is able to use SMPT protocol and connect to external service to send an email. We don't provide email services though.

Hey looks like you've upgraded to a paid account since last message. Did you get it working?

I am also trying to use SMTP, through Outlook servers. It worked locally, but then on pythonanywhere it failed with the "OSError: [Errno 101] Network is unreachable" error. Okay, I see the other messages saying this won't work with a free account. So I upgraded to a paid account, but SMTP still fails with that same error. Do I need to switch to gmail even with a paid account?

Thanks!

Eric

And then I launched a new console and it worked just fine!

Glad you got it working!

Currently using Zoho mail with my Django App on Pythonanywhere, it runs locally and everywhere, but when it gets to run online, it keeps returning connection refused errors.

If we upgrade to the free plan, will the issue be resolved?

We're basically using 'smtp' and 'mx' records in our domain name service.

Free accounts have limited access to email.
