Using emoji in PythonAnywhere forums post

I started a new topic yesterday and used the "tada" emoji U+1F389 in my text, but the emoji didn't show up after submitting and clicking "Start Topic". Even worse: everything after the emoji was also cut off. I will try this again with this new topic here, there should be an emoji followed by some text coming after this colon:

Yup, as expected, both emoji and all text after the emoji are missing. In the HTML code, you can see that the space character after the colon is still there, though. I will add the same here again, to see if the issue also applies to comments or only to the first post of a new topic, there should be an emoji followed by some text coming after this colon:

Looks like you are a bug hunter :D Will make another note to check this one as well.

Ha thanks :P Made me sad to think of all the happy emojis that you guys have missed out on ;)

But were you able to reproduce? Or am I the problem?

I think that someone else came across that the other day, so it's definitely not just you! There's something on our backlog to change the encoding used to store forum posts so that it's emoji-aware :-)
