i have both a PAW domain and a domain that i bought recently at godaddy. i am pointing the godaddy to PAW but i'm not sure if if have done the set up correctly. typing my domain name in the url points back to PAW with a coming soon message. i am also seen this message under the web tab :

"You do not have a CNAME set up for your domain. Check this help page for more information about how to set it up correctly."

i'm not sure how to resolve this issue so any help will be appreciated.

It sounds like you haven't set up the CNAME correctly then. Have a look at the instructions here: https://help.pythonanywhere.com/pages/OwnDomains -- they include a link to the appropriate help page on godaddy...

i have been trying to get this figured out for a while now. i have read the link you suggested before, followed the instructions but i am still getting the same error. i'm not really sure what to do.

Could you email us a screenshot of the DNS configuration page, as you currently have it set up, on your DNS provider? We can probably tell you what needs to be changed.

what email can i send the pictures to.
